Our Vision

We support an educational grant program for underprivileged children’s educational studies and provide mentorship for developing an ethical character with honest moral values and balanced lifestyle.

Our Mission

Degun Education Charity International is a non-profit organization for the promotion and propagation of education for underprivileged children who are unable to afford School, Higher educational or University studies.

Scope of Our Student Support Program

We work exclusively with students who demonstrate genuine need and merit.

Applicants are selected through a structured review process in which submissions are carefully evaluated by our board members.
Once selected, students receive tailored support based on their individual requirements, which may include financial grant, academic mentoring, and counselling.

Each year, we support up to ten students, who in turn commit to giving back by contributing to the mentorship and support of future beneficiaries, creating a sustainable cycle of impact.

Ms Simran Kaur Degun

BSc Psychology, South Bank University London. Financial services professional with over 15 years’ expertise across Anti-Money Laundering, fraud prevention, onboarding, and Know Your Customer.

Simran is a highly experienced karate and fitness instructor and instills strict discipline, confidence and resilience in her training.  She also promotes cultural awareness with voluntary work in the local community.

Mrs Rupinder Degun Joshi

BA (Hons.) Marketing and Advertising Communications, Greenwich University, London. Senior Marketing and Communications Associate at J.P. Morgan, strengthening brand visibility and communication strategies within the Commercial and Investment Banking sectors.


She has made major contributions in the higher education sector by mentoring and teaching students from underprivileged backgrounds. She taught English to foreign students, building language skills needed for their academic growth.

Mrs Baljit Kaur Degun

BA Public Administration, University of Leicester.

Currently working in the Education and Social Care Sector and has a 39-year established career in Local Government. She specialises in carrying out and overseeing the highly complex process of assessing children for an Educational Health & Care (EHC) Plan and the Annual Review EHC in accordance with the Special Educational Needs (SEN) Code of Practice & legislation for a local Education Authority.  
 

She has extensive, diverse experience, aptitude and ability in communication skills whilst liaising with School Governors and other Teaching professionals.

Mrs Amarjeet Kaur Degun 

BSc (Med Sci), MSc (Microbiology), CSci, FIBMS.
Former Senior Medical Microbiology Scientist with 33 years experience, including 10 years of lead in establishing and managing a Tuberculosis laboratory.


Now retired, working part-time in healthcare administration and clinical coding, and proudly supporting a child’s education in Uganda through the Joy of Humanity charity.

Mr Arjun Singh Degun

BA. Economics (1st Hons.) University of Leicester.

Professionally qualified in financial planning and corporate finance. He works in corporate development within the wealth management and financial services sector, having started his career in wealth management and built experience across asset management, corporate strategy, and M&A. He works closely with senior leadership on growth initiatives, strategic planning, and business analysis, supporting decision-making within financial services organisations.

 

Alongside his professional career, Arjun is actively involved in sport and community development. He runs a kickboxing and Muay Thai club and is a black belt.

Mr Arjan Singh Degun

MPharm, PgDip, PgCert, Kings College London. Arjan is a highly accomplished clinical pharmacist, experienced in the UK healthcare sector. Currently serves as the Medicines Safety Lead for a major mental health hospital, overseeing critical safety protocols and service evaluations, including high-profile drug initiatives.

As a qualified Independent Prescriber specializing in psychiatric medication, he blends clinical expertise with strategic oversight. He is currently pursuing a Master’s in Public Health and Leadership, focusing on systemic improvements in patient outcomes and secondary care excellence. 

Dr Simrit Kaur Degun

BMBS (1st Hons.), MRCGP, Nottingham University. An experienced GP Partner and GP Educator in London. She balances her clinical practice with a strategic role as a Primary Care Network (PCN) Clinical Lead, supporting and coordinating local GP practices to enhance community health services. 

Dr. Degun is also a dedicated humanitarian. As an ambassador for the charity Joy For Humanity, she has played a pivotal role in establishing the Joy For Humanity Medical Centre in rural Uganda, running health clinics, providing vital clinical support to local staff, and personally sponsoring healthcare and education initiatives to foster long-term growth in the region.

Mr Harjinder Singh Degun

BSc Electronics, King’s College London. An experienced consultant and project manager, he brings over forty years of experience in the telecom and IT, software quality and software process improvement.


His expertise spans a range of methodologies including Waterfall, Agile, CMMI, and Six Sigma, reflecting a long and accomplished professional career.

Alongside this, he has made extensive contributions to community and charitable work as a mentor, former STEM Ambassador and School Parent Governor. He has also achieved 5th Dan black belt in martial arts, and was a former instructor, international referee, and judge.

Our Mentors

Mr Joginder Singh Degun
Technical Fellow Boeing Company

A former Chief Scientist for the RF & Microwave Electronics Division at the Boeing Satellite Systems (formerly Hughes Space Communications) in Los Angeles, USA, Joginder was widely recognized for his expertise of Linear and Non-linear RF circuit designs across a broad frequency spectrum, from VHF to Q-Band. He qualified the very first Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMICs) flown in space, and in the process, established critical design reliability criteria for long-term operation of solid-state high-power amplifiers in space.


At Marconi Space & Defence Systems (UK) he developed state-of-the-art, high dynamic range Angle Tracking Receiver for the DN181 Radar System, and served as Technical Manager for the development of the Transponder Receiver for the European Space Agency’s (ESA) first Earth Resources Satellite (ERS-1).

Throughout his career, Joginder was a devoted mentor and educational advisor. He provided essential aid to deserving colleagues and students - covering fees, disbursements, and learning materials - to create pathways for success in science, engineering, and medicine.

Driven by the profound satisfaction of empowering others, Joginder and his spouse Ravinder are passing this legacy to the succeeding generations, instilling a passion for supporting the education and mentoring of underprivileged children through DECII.

Mr Manjit Singh Degun

Dip. Surv, BSc (Hons), ICIOB. Construction professional with a strong track record of delivering medium to high-value new-build and refurbishment projects across multinational environments, private clients, community and public sector frameworks. Experienced in leading end-to-end project lifecycles, from bid management to delivering measurable outcomes.  Skilled in contract administration, multidisciplinary team leadership and stakeholder coordination, with a focus on commercial awareness, proactive risk management, and optimising performance, 

Dr Siva Rao Samba Chebolu

Siva Chebolu lived in India, Nigeria & USA and these multicultural experiences shaped his ideologies. He witnessed firsthand how a good education with critical thinking nurtures and transforms the mind while profoundly impacting job opportunities and living standards.  Siva was actively involved in the nonprofit "ASHA for Education" organization during his graduate studies. Siva is currently an aerospace engineer and has been teaching and mentoring students & engineers for over three decades

Our mentors comprise distinguished professionals from a range of disciplines who contribute deep expertise and thoughtful guidance. They play an active role in supporting students’ academic and personal development through informed, practical mentorship.

Mrs Ravinder Kaur Degun

Ravinder’s rise to professional prominence is a testament to her resilience and determination. Transitioning from an accounting administration background in the UK, she pursued her passion for healthcare, ultimately becoming a Registered Nurse. During her tenure as an RN, she also served as a Preceptor in the Liver Transplant Department, UCLA Medical Center, Los Angeles.

 

She is the co-founder of DECI Inc. which she established alongside her husband, Joginder.
