Our Mission
Degun Education Charity International is a non-profit organization for the promotion and propagation of education for potential under privileged children who are unable to afford School, Higher educational or University studies.
Our Vision
We support an educational grant program for under privileged children’s educational studies and provide nurturing for developing an ethical character with honest moral values and balanced lifestyle.
Scope of Our Student Support Program
We work exclusively with students who demonstrate genuine need and merit.
Applicants are selected through a structured review process in which submissions are carefully evaluated by our board members. Once selected, students receive tailored support based on their individual requirements, which may include financial guidance, academic mentoring, or counselling.
Each year, we support up to ten students, who in turn commit to giving back by contributing to the mentorship and support of future beneficiaries, creating a sustainable cycle of impact.

Simran K Degun
An experienced financial services professional with over 15 years’ expertise across Anti-Money Laundering (AML), fraud prevention, onboarding, and Know Your Customer (KYC) functions conducting detailed risk assessments and supporting robust compliance frameworks with strong customer-focused approach.
Psychology Study strengthened analytical thinking, attention to behavioral patterns, and decision-making capabilities which have been valuable in fraud detection and customer risk proofing.
Simran is a highly experienced karate and fitness instructor and instills strict discipline, confidence and resilience in her training. She also promotes cultural awareness with voluntary work in the local community e.g. – she has gained awards in Bhangra dance style and has also taken part in a traditional Bollywood singing group.
Rupinder Degun
Senior Marketing and Communications Associate at J.P. Morgan
Rupinder Degun holds a BA Honours Degree in Marketing and Advertising Communications from the University of Greenwich.
Currently, she serves as a Senior Marketing and Communications Associate at J.P. Morgan, where she leverages her expertise to enhance brand visibility and drive effective communication strategies within the Commercial and Investment Banking sectors.
Earlier in her career, Rupinder made impactful contributions in the higher education sector, where she mentored and taught students from underprivileged backgrounds, fostering their academic and personal growth. Additionally, she has experience teaching English to foreign students, equipping them with essential language skills for their academic pursuits.
Mrs Baljit K Degun
Baljit is a BA graduate from the University of Leicester and studied Public administration.
Baljit is currently working in the Education and Social Care Sector and has an established career in Local Government, spanning over 39 years.
Her area of specialism is carrying out and overseeing the highly complex process of assessing children for a EHC Plan and/or Annual Review (Educational Health & Care) in accordance with the SEN Code of Practice/legislation, for a local Education Authority.
She has extensive, diverse experience, aptitude and ability in communication skills whilst liaising with a range of professionals, i.e. Headteachers, School Governors, as well as other Teaching professionals.
Mrs Amarjeet K Degun
Former Senior Medical Microbiology Scientist with 33 years’ experience, including 10 years of lead in establishing and managing a Tuberculosis laboratory. Now retired, working part-time in healthcare administration and clinical coding, and proudly supporting a child’s education in Uganda through the Joy of Humanity charity.
Mr Arjun S Degun, BA Economics
Arjun gained a First-Class Honours degree in Economics from the University of Leicester. Whilst working, Arjun has also simultaneously successfully completed professional qualifications in financial planning and corporate finance
Arjun is employed in corporate development within the wealth management and financial services sector. Having started his career in wealth management he has gained valuable experience across asset management, corporate strategy, and M&A. Arjun works closely with senior leadership on growth initiatives, strategic planning, and business analysis, supporting decision-making within complex financial services organizations.
Alongside his professional career experience, Arjun is actively involved in sport and community development. He organizes and teaches a kickboxing and Muay Thai club. Arjun also has a black belt in karate. He is committed to promoting his martial arts expertise to instill discipline, resilience, confidence, and positive life choices in his students. He is passionate and determined in supporting physical wellbeing and health for young people through sport.
Mr Arjan S Degun, MPharm PgDip PgCert
Pharmaceutical
Arjan is a highly accomplished clinical pharmacist with over a decade of experience in the UK healthcare sector. A 2014 graduate of King's College London, he currently serves as the Medicines Safety Lead for a major mental health hospital. In this capacity, Arjan oversees critical safety protocols and service evaluations, including high-profile initiatives
regarding benzodiazepine and Z-drug discharge information.
As a qualified Independent Prescriber specializing in psychiatric medication, Arjan blends clinical expertise with strategic oversight. He is currently further enhancing his leadership portfolio by pursuing a Master’s in Public Health and Leadership, focusing on systemic improvements in patient outcomes and secondary care excellence.
Dr Simrit K Degun BMBS, MRCGP
Dr. Simrit Degun is an experienced GP Partner and GP Educator based in London. A graduate of the Nottingham University Medical School, she balances her clinical practice with a strategic role as a Primary Care Network (PCN) Clinical Lead, where she supports and coordinates local GP practices to enhance community health services.
Beyond her work in the UK, Dr. Degun is a dedicated humanitarian. As an ambassador for the charity Joy For Humanity, she has played a pivotal role in establishing the Joy For Humanity Medical Centre in rural Uganda. Her international work includes running health clinics, providing vital clinical support to local staff, and personally sponsoring healthcare and education initiatives to foster long-term growth in the region.
Mr Harjinder S Degun, BSc Electronics
Graduating from King’s College London Harjinder is a highly experienced Consultant and Project Manager with over forty years’ experience in Telecom and IT corporate organizations leading complex programs in process management and improvement, and software test development with various methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, CMMI, Six Sigma) to name a few.
Alongside his remarkable professional career, Harjinder has made a long-standing contribution to community and charitable work. He is a former STEM Ambassador (STEMNET) and a former School Parent Governor. As part of his role in STEM, he has delivered motivational talks and guided young people through positive role modelling.
Harjinder is also a highly respected kickboxing champion, e.g. a 5th Dan black belt in karate, a qualified karate and kickboxing instructor, as well as an international kickboxing referee and judge. He created and ran several martial arts clubs in a multi-cultural environment, using sport to promote and initiate discipline, confidence, and wellbeing among young people in inner city London.
